Mint Chip Maca Smoothie Recipe

FullSizeRender_2Want to make you and/or your loved one a healthy breakfast treat for Valentine’s Day? Pre or post workout, this vegan mint chip maca smoothie recipe made with VegaOne protein powder is sure to please.

Maca powder has many health properties including being an adaptogen and helping balance out hormone levels as well as reversing sexual dysfunction. Cacao is chock full of antioxidants and tryptophan, which are the building blocks for serotonin, the happy chemical released when eating chocolate.

Fresh mint from the farmer’s market is such a treat, and great for your breath if you chew on the garnish at the end. Great for kissing! Here you go…

Mint Chip Maca Smoothie

Ingredients:
Serves: 2

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup water (less if you like it thick, more if you don’t)
2 scoops Vanilla VegaOne or other vegan protein powder
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
1 handful of fresh mint leaves
2 tsp maca powder
6-8 ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in your blender except the cacao nibs and blend until smooth.
  2. Add cacao nibs and blend for about 10 more seconds so cacao nibs are blended in but still chunky.
  3. Garnish with fresh mint leaves
