from the streets to the boardroom. I get to do this by speaking to audiences around the world on:
How did my badassery journey begin?
It started in 2000 when I threw my first roundhouse in a Manhattan dojo. I was hooked. Shortly after, I found myself riddled with anxiety after surviving the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. Thankfully, I was okay. But I had experienced a new kind of fear that stuck with me. It froze me in the moment, and I couldn’t brush that feeling away. I never wanted to feel frozen with fear again. And I wanted to make sure nobody else had to either.
Since then, I’ve helped thousands of clients do the same. I’ve prepped single moms, realtors, and college students to fight off any surprise attack. But I’ve gotten deeper. I’ve used the lessons from the dojo to fight off less obvious opponents: our own doubts, negative comments, and even society’s expectations.
I’ve helped teams from Apple, British Airways, Nike, Uber, Visa and so many more to feel empowered within their bodies and when it comes to going after their dreams. I’ve turned boardrooms into dojos and made sure none of my students will ever be left frozen in fear whether it’s during an attack or while giving a Ted Talk. I’ve successfully created thousands of global badasses. And I can’t wait to welcome you and your team to the club.
In 2023, I added a NLP (neurolinguistic programming) certification and a high performance coaching certification from Performance Coach University with Jairek and Amanda Robbins.
I believe that if we use our voices, stand up to bullying, harassment and abuse and take a stand for gender equality and women’s safety, this world will be a better place.
When I was young, I wanted to be either a waitress or a veterinarian when I grew up. I accomplished one out of those two goals.
After college I worked in a hip hop nightclub serving up bottles of Moet and Hennessy till the wee hours of the morning. Sounds like a nightmare to my current self, but back then… I loved it!
I taught the late, great Carrie Fisher how to defend herself while wearing heels on The Today Show. #careerhighlight.
I love Tony Robbins. The big hands, the booming voice, the unshakeable confidence, all of it. I’ve done a few of his live events; walked on hot coals and jumped off a telephone pole (in a harness).
I married a Northern Irish guy who loves cats as much as I do.
In 2016, I was a featured weight loss expert on a reality TV show called, My Diet is Better Than Yours.
Making up a career as I went along came with many challenges (like empty bank accounts, cheap wine, jaw clenching and loads of self doubt). But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m grateful for living my life on purpose (and now for better wine).
